9/100 Bigfin reef squid/ aori ikaアオリイカ🐟

Since I had been in a trip where fish is popular, I am going to post them as #100 series in coming posts🤟

We did net fishing in Mie prefecture, which is 8 hours train from Tokyo.

Big reef squid called Aori ika is the most luxury squid. It has a good elasticity and strong sweetness. It is great for sushi, deep-fried etc. Yesterday we caught this beautiful guy, then cut and eat as sashimi (raw) on the sight and was so amazing!!

I heard this is rare in the US, so if you ever come to Japan, this should be on your bucket list!

Fish price of the day (1 package): priceless (the fisherwoman told us it will be 30-60 USD even in the whole sale)
