A Cozy Autumn Dinner — Salmon, Miso & A Mom’s Sketch
Dinner felt like a small autumn hug.
Not dramatic. Just gentle and warm.
The star was salmon baked in foil with miso, plus shimeji mushrooms and veggies. Wrap, bake, open → good smells, happy heart.
Then miso soup with komatsuna and aburaage. The broth came from shiitake + kombu, a classic combo that feels like a warm scarf for your stomach.
We also had rice with sweet potatoes and maitake — a little natural sweetness, like dessert politely joining dinner without asking.
Side dishes:
• Sunomono with cucumber + wakame, one of Japan’s most popular seaweeds(if seaweed were a pop star, wakame would top the charts).
• Green beans with sesame — simple, nutty, quietly confident.
This menu is also part of a class I’m planning with an autumn + healthy longevity theme.
Nothing trendy — just real food people have loved for ages.
The sweetest detail:
My mom drew a small illustration of this dinner. Her drawings have love😍
It made the meal feel extra cozy.
Food, family, and a little miso magic — a good night.
