🙌10th anniversary! 🥰🎉
celebration with mom’s finger food, Inari sushi, Japanese brand cakes with guests
I could not be happier that we could share this joy and smiles with my guests
Wow, can you believe it’s been ten years?
It’s been quite a journey filled with a lot of trial and error! I remember the early days when I did not know how to acquire customers—so I called hotels, conducting street surveys to nail down the content and pricing, even building my own website as a complete novice! I went to events and explored every avenue I could think of.
But through it all, I was so driven by my passion to want foreigners to munch on Japanese culture and foods, so working till the midnight was not a chore at all.
But I was a very nervous in my very first class, especially since my first guest was a French chef! But eventually she enjoyed the class, and I couldn’t hold back the tears when she handed me the payment in a brown paper envelope afterwards.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of teaching Japanese cooking to over 5,000 people, and it’s all thanks to each of you who joined my classes and events, and also probably family members, who made compliments to the recreated dishes at your homes.
Honestly, I’ve never anticipated this amazing bonds we’d form through classes. I find myself constantly thinking about what would bring delight to your stay in Japan.
I often mention that my class and tour is to help you to enjoy your time in Japan, but I’ve come to realize that they have been helping me to survive for my own mental well-being and fulfilling life.
Thanks to every one of you and my wonderful team, we’re celebrating our 10th anniversary!
Looking ahead to the next 10 years, I’m excited to bring you unique and enjoyable experiences through my cooking classes and food tours.
Though I am taking maternity leave, I can’t wait to create more delicious memories with all of you🥰🫶
