🍄 Japan’s autumn = matsutake madness! 🍂

These mushrooms are like celebrities of fall—rare, pricey, and everyone goes wild just to get a sniff. Honestly, half the joy is leaning over the plate and saying, “Ahhh, that aroma!” before anyone even takes a bite.

This year, we scored some Hokkaido matsutake from our relatives 🙌. We got fancy with dobin-mushi (yep, soup in a teapot!) and then went caveman-style—just grilled them and let the smoky aroma do all the work.

Family gathered around, noses in the air like we were all part of a mushroom fan club. A lot of “mmm”s, some giggles, and then sudden silence once the flavor hit. That’s how you know matsutake season has truly arrived.
